Build by Static
While playing on Creative, you are able to achieve different medals based on what you build. There are a total of 8 medals you can earn. These include Bronze, Silver, Gold, Amethyst, Diamond, Ruby, Emerald and Platinum. Bronze is the lowest medal and Platinum is the highest.
When your plot is finished you can submit it to be graded with /submit
After doing this, a Creative staff member will claim your submission and award your build with a medal. Once a plot submission is claimed it usually takes 3-5 days before you are awarded a medal. The more plot submissions there are, the longer it may take before your plot submission is claimed. You can check the submission queue in /medals
menu, by clicking the spyglass ().
Every player world is eligible for a medal, this means each individual world can have a medal, with the highest medal being displayed in tab and chat.
The Medal earned is based on the overall quality, detail and effort put into the build. Staff are happy to give feedback to you, if you request it.
NOTE: When creative staff judge the build, they may take style and aesthetics into consideration. But these guidelines do not limit builders who want to explore builds that may not rely on or focus on terrain, organics, or structures.
This section of the wiki is to explain to you what is expected, from every individual medal you can earn in order to assist you in your efforts for a medal.
Once you have earned your first medal, you may vote for different medals on other worlds. You do this by going in the World Submission Queue /submissions
, you can go around and vote what you think a world deserves. When you are voting please keep in mind the below examples, as if you're accurate to the staff's final decision, you will earn more mana.
Warning: Voting your friend's worlds higher or players you dislike worlds lower, could result in a ban from voting. Keep voting fair.
Every submissions final medal is decided by creative staff. But player votes can be a good indicator, to which medal a player has earned.
Players who have shown good knowledge around medal awarding, may be offered a judge role. This role means they will help along side creative staff, in deciding the final medal.
Like most things, there are rules you will have to follow outside of the regular ManaCube rules. These rules are specific to worlds you want to receive a medal.
Can archived plots be submitted for medals? Yes, but if it has received a grade on old creative, you must make significant changes or updates to it, for it to receive a medal. Roughly around 25% should be changed.
Can I copy tutorials etc to put in my world? Submitting a world with a copied build, could result in a medal ban. We want to see your skills.
Are schematics allowed? Same rules apply as copying builds, a schematic is a copied build and submitting a world with a copied build, could result in a medal ban.
Can I have my friends help me? You can have your friends help you, just make sure they help with less than 10%. You can check with /percentage
.
Can two players work on the same world and receive a medal? Medals are assigned to the world, which means it is only the world owner that receives the medal.
Can i submit pixel art? Any pixel art in the world will not be counted towards getting a medal.
Can i submit my parkour? Parkours also will not be counted towards a medal, if you make a really cool build that involes a parkour, the build itself could recieve a medal. Although we do reccomend building parkours on /parkour.
How much of the world should be filled? A world should have around atleast 25% filled.
Bronze Medal is the lowest medal obtainable in creative. This grade is achievable by all, as there are very few requirements. The build is typically overall simplistic, with none or very little terrain. The plot is not expected to have a consistent theme and there are often a lot of bonemealed trees.

To earn a silver medal there should be more details than the previous medals, but it is still minimal. The amount of effort put into builds should increase with each medal given. We should start seeing some terrain and more developed skills, when it comes to the choice of blocks used. We don't expect a set theme, but we should start seeing hints of one being chosen.

To earn a gold medal you will be expected to further your skills in both terrain and structure. The terrain is expected to look more natural and smooth. The structures should have more details and the world itself should have a theme to it. The gold medal is where it should start getting challenging for most players.

To earn an Amethyst medal, a more developed world with a clear theme should be created. We are also going to start looking at things such as custom built beginner trees and terrain that looks smooth and natural. The world is now expected to have a wider variety of blocks used as well as a good style that benefits the overall build.

To obtain a diamond medal, the expectations are more enhanced than those of previous medals. The builder shows knowledge on a bunch of different areas, such as terrain, theme, structures, organics, aesthetics, detailing, interiors, etc. All of these things flow together filling the world without looking or feeling overcrowded.

To achieve the ruby medal the plot is expected to have detailed structures and terrain. The use of organics in this category is very common. It is very common for medals this high to have been expanded to a 400x400 world, to achieve the level of detail needed. The world is expected to be placed together at a professional level and are expected to go over the top with creativity and building skills. The use of custom trees, plants etc is expected and should be present. There should be maximum effort put in to an emerald world. Any details should be used properly and the world should be completely filled. Utilizing the air space and the space below the world itself is highly encouraged. There are often very large structures with incredible detail in emerald worlds.

To Achieve the current highest medal on ManaCube, the builder's skills should demonstrate understanding of creativity, detailing, placement, theme, depth, terrain, organics, structure and much more. Different uses of building techniques should be used. The terrain should be perfect in terms of smoothing and detailing. Mega structures/organics are expected to be a main part of the world and should properly align with the theme. Maximum effort should be presented in the world. The palettes used in the world should align and coordinate with the worlds theme, making it stand out even more. The world should be at least 400x400 blocks big.

The requirements for the platinum medal is currently undecided. Once it is decided the wiki will be updated.
Although we want you to have creative freedom on our server, when it comes to submitting a plot to be awarded a medal, by our creative staff we want you to follow a few extra rules as we want your medal to reflect your own set of skills, not anybody else's. This means we do not allow anybody to submit a build that has the following:
NOTE: Copying tutorials/builds is only against the rules if you are submitting a plot for a grade. In any other cases, this is totally fine although it may be frowned upon by other players.
If you are found to have submitted a world(s) with copied builds, you will be punished accordingly. Repeated offenses will eventually lead to a World Submissions Ban. Such Ban blocks a player from running the /submit
command, meaning they are unable to get a new medal.
NOTE: If you feel like you have been wrongfully World Submissions Banned, or feel like you now deserve to have this ban removed. You are free to appeal on the forums.
