Daily Rewards are a simple way to earn free items. By syncing your Discord and Forums accounts, you gain access to /cow
, through which rewards can be claimed. More information on how to sync, claim your rewards, and what rewards there are can be found on our Daily Rewards article.
An easy way to make money early on is by selling fish to Huey through /fish
. You can also obtain money by selling custom items or currencies to other players. As you make more over time, try to save up enough for a few iron golem spawners, which you can use to construct an iron golem grinder. Having a good iron golem grinder is the most efficient and profitable money-making method in Islands.
Grinders can be set up with a hopper system connected to regular chests or an Infinity Chest. If you choose to go with regular chests, It's recommended that you use a Sell Wand to sell the drops inside them.
TIP: Selling cubits to other players for currencies, such as money, can be helpful.
Passive mob spawners typically require grass blocks, ample space and sufficient light to function. One noteworthy exception to this, however, is the mooshroom spawner, which requires mycelium instead of grass blocks. Iron golems and villagers, although considered to be passive mobs, do not have specific block or light level requirements for their spawners - they only need enough space to spawn.
Something to keep in mind when constructing a grinder is that spawners will not spawn entities unless a player is within 16 blocks, and that you can only stack up to 64 of the same spawner in a given chunk. You may use this information to come up with effective grinder designs that make the most of your space.
TRICK: A good way to collect, condense and sell your grinder drops is by connecting a chunk hopper to a double Autocraft and Infinity Chest.
Chest Shops are a great way to buy and sell goods with other players. Depending on how the chest shop is configured, players can either buy items from or sell items to you.
TIP: Chest shops are formatted in the perspective of their owner. For example, if you were to set up a BUY shop, you would be the one buying from other players, not vice versa.
If you wish to give other players a way to access one of your builds, areas or shops, consider setting a warp.
To set a Public Warp, you need the MVP+ Donator Rank. Stand in the spot and direction where you want the warp to face, then use /setwarp <warp name>
to set one. You can also use /warps
and /warps <page number>
to browse through all public warps.
Being able to set Private Warps, however, is a perk that is unlocked from the Perk Crate. Private Warps work similarly to Public Warps, but with limited access. Only players who have permission from the warp owner can use them. To create a Private Warp, use the command /psetwarp <warp name>
. Additionally, you can manage who has access to your Private Warp by adding and removing players with /pwarp add <private warp name> <username>
and /pwarp remove <private warp name> <username>
, respectively.
Trading is an easy way to give and receive items from other players without purchasing them through the Auction House or dropping them on the ground.
TIP: Dropping items on the ground to trade or give to another player is risky. The items may be picked up by another player or despawn due to clear lag. You are also more likely to be the victim of a scam when not using
/trade
or/ah
.
/trade <username>
- Sends a trade request to someone. You must be within 15 blocks of the player to trade.
/shop
- Left click items in the shop to purchase them, and right click to sell. You also have the option of using the shop's in-built Sell Shop feature.
/ah
- View items other players have listed on the Auction House.
WARNING: Scamming other players is against the rules and punishable with a ban.
ManaCube offers a variety of custom items that can benefit your fishing experience. For example, certain SVA items, such as the Nightmare Rod and Doubloon Pendant, can give you even more legendary fish than usual. If you're looking for a non-SVA alternative to these items, consider the Golden Fishing Rod, which is sold in Huey's /fishshop
.
A few other useful fishing rods include the Magic Pond Fishing Rods, which give you a +25% chance of receiving 2x fishpoints or souls while fishing from the Magic Pond at /warp pond
, and Huey's Fishing Rod, which provides a 2.5x McMMO fishing EXP multiplier and a chance to earn fishpoints while fishing. All of these rods are non-SVA and can be purchased from Huey's shop.
On your island, an easy way to ensure that the fish you catch are properly collected is by placing a chunk hopper in the same chunk. For additional storage, you can connect this chunk hopper to a chest. The chunk hopper will automatically collect all fish caught within that chunk, so you don't have to worry about missing any.
TIP: While fishing, if you find that your bobber isn't latching on to any of the fish that swim up to it, try casting your line at a different spot in the water.
From monsters, to mobs, crates and bosses, there are multiple ways one can obtain souls in Islands. However, the best and most accessible way to get them is by farming a low-health mob like spiders with a Bone Axe, which gives you a +15% chance of receiving 4x mob heads from regular mobs. If you don't have a Bone Axe, you can get one from either the Mana Wolves at Wolfhaven or other players through /ah
and /trade
.
If you're in need of mana, look no further than the Isles. A great way to get large amounts of this currency quickly is by mining the purpur blocks at Morend, which is located in the Ocean. You can also use /mana
for a more comprehensive list of mana-earning methods.
Fishpoints are mainly obtained by selling fish through /fish
. To increase your fishpoint earnings, consider using one of the custom fishing rods mentioned in the Fishing section of this article.
TIP: Type
/store
and hover over the coin icon at the bottom of the interface for a list of ways to get cubits.
Custom enchantments can be applied to armour, tools and weapons to make them stronger and more effective. At the bottom of the /enchanter
interface, there is a button that you can press to open the Enchantment Codex, which lists and explains how each custom enchantment works. Using the Enchantment Codex is a good way to determine which custom enchantments work best for your needs.
Before using a custom enchantment book, ensure that its success rate exceeds its failure rate. If it isn't high enough, you may use Magic Success Dust to increase it. A higher success rate reduces the likelihood of enchantment failure. If an enchantment fails, not only will the book be consumed, but your gear piece will also shatter, so be sure to make full use of your Magic Success Dust.
TIP: You can repair shattered items in the
/forge
.
TRICK: If you don't have enough Magic Success Dust, a convenient way to obtain some is by trading unwanted custom enchantment books to the
/tinkerer
. This will give you Secret Dust, which can turn into Magic Success Dust when used.
It's important to understand how a boss works before attempting to fight one. Having knowledge of its attacks, health and damage can help you gauge the scope of a boss fight's potential difficulty, but it won't be easy alone. Bosses like the Kraken, Great Wolf and Mana Golem often require teamwork between players to be defeated.
TIP: Totems of Undying are a great way to stay alive during boss fights. You can purchase them from the /shop under the miscellaneous section.
The Ocean is a vast and dangerous environment that can be accessed with a boat through Pirate Bay at /spawn
. Various hostile entities, such as Pirates, roam the Ocean. If you find that you are dying to Pirates often, evading them is best done by swiftly swerving past while keeping your distance.
If you must fight, it's best to be equipped with the appropriate gear. Enchanting your gear with a mix of custom and vanilla enchantments can significantly improve your survival chances.
TIP: Consider carrying a good bow with you; it can be a valuable tool for dealing with enemies in the Ocean, whether they're on land or in the water.
