Players will most often interact with Helpers, Moderators (MODs), ChatMODS and MOD+. These staff are most often seen in-game answering questions and assisting players. They volunteer their time to help the server and its community. For issues beyond what they can handle in game, they will often ask players to create a Support Ticket. This will allow higher staff to attend to these issues.
The term “higher staff” refers to SrMods, Admins and of course, the Owners. These staff members have perms across all servers and have access to commands that allow them to address additional issues. Much of their work is done behind the scenes or when they appear to be sitting afk.
There are also some “special duties” some staff choose to perform. On Parkour, the Map Judges are responsible for testing and selecting new parkour maps. The members of the Events Team are responsible for the server wide events typically held on Saturdays. In addition, some staff serve as Mentors for new Helpers to support them as they adjust to staffing.
NOTE: The list of current staff members can be found on the Forums.
TIP: To find out what staff are online use the
/staff
command in game.
Select staff may be promoted to SrMod (senior moderator). SrMods are given specific additional responsibilities and may also act as moderators on any server. They also review staff performance and make recommendations on promotions.
The plug-in developers create custom plugins to bring new in-game features to the players. The Web developers are always improving our website and webstore to make things more streamlined, informative and simpler to use.
Like SrMods each Admin generally has special duties; however, all have elevated in game and backend permissions and are responsible for addressing the day-to-day issues on the server. They set the rules for each game mode, troubleshoot and address issues, manage the staff team, and perform special duties as requested by the owner.
The owner is responsible for the operation of the network.
While you will not see this tag in-game, several staff act as Mentors to new staff. Mentors provide guidance, advice and general support to new staff.
Map judges are Parkour MODS that have special training in judging new Parkour and Dropper maps for the server.
Any staff member may join and be included on the QA team however only a select few staff members or QA members may become QA leads.
Staff of the Month (SOTM) is a title awarded to Helpers, Mods or Mod+s who have excelled during the prior month. Staff and players may participate in voting for a staff member that they believe excels on Manacube platforms and has made positive contributions. There can be up to three staff members who are awarded SOTM however SOTM will depend on votes and if they're tied. Staff members can win multiple months in a row or multiple times in one month.
Staff and Players are able to vote through a poll. Check #polls on the Manacube Discord to cast your vote but be quick as the link only lasts a limited time!
DISCLAIMER: No longer in effect.
SOTM had four different categories that staff could vote on. The categories are In-Game, Discord, Forums and Team Player.
In-Game: There is no quota for the number of kicks, mutes, or bans when considering the In-game SOTM. We are looking for staff that are not only active, but are helpful and work to make the player experience a positive one. This may include answering /helpops, responding to questions, taking the time to show players how to perform a specific task, such as making a grinder or a jump on parkour.
Discord: Again, there are no quotas for issuing punishments for the Discord category. We are looking for staff that are active on Discord and are actively solving player's issues, passing them on to the appropriate staff when needed, and making sure the Discord is a safe, friendly place to hang out.
Forums: To be considered for SOTM on the Forums, staff should be active with handling Support Tickets and Mute/Ban Appeals. For Support Tickets, they should be answering questions and resolving any issues they are able to. For issues that require higher staff, they should collect all needed information before passing on to higher staff. Posting replies to forums threads and interacting with the community is also considered.
Team Player: This category was recently added to focus on one of the Core Values of the ManaCube staff team -- Team Work. A team player cares more about what is best for the player and the server than for getting recognition. They support their team mates and do not compete in order to "boost" their stats.
The SOTM winners are announced in the monthly post in our News & Announcements section of the forums. They are also announced in the #announcements channel of the ManaCube Discord.
The winner(s) will receive the SOTM tag on a single server of their choice, SOTM on the Manacube Discord as well as $50 USD.

When SOTM has been announced, they will be added to the SOTM History located on the forums. You can view previous staff who have won SOTM dating back to December 2017.
Once all the requirements are met, players can apply with the [APPLY NOW] button on the Staff Applications section of the Forums. The application will be publicly displayed until a final decision has been reached by Helper Management. While your application is public, other players may make comments expressing their opinions on the applicant’s fitness for staff. These comments include a rating of +1, 0 or -1 and a brief description to explain it.
Once players have had the opportunity to comment on staff applications, they are then reviewed by higher staff and are either "Rejected" or placed into "Reviewing".
When "Rejected" the application is moved out into the Archived Application Folder. Additionally, higher staff will respond with an explanation so you know what you can work on to better your application.
If you have met requirements, your application may be put in “Reviewing”. This means that higher staff are gathering additional information on your in-game history and suitability for the staff team. After a week or longer, your application will then be responded to again with a message to explain whether you were "Accepted" or "Rejected".
Unless banned from applying, players may apply for staff as many times as they wish within the time restrictions they are given. Usually, players are told to wait four weeks before they can reapply.
